I love a pleasant surprise, and this coffee was very pleasant surprise indeed! I bought this coffee, expecting to take it pretty dark. When I did my profile roasts, it was good dark, but it was exceptional as a light roast.
Berries. Strawberry crossed with mellowing mulberry. Floral and sweet, both on the nose and palate. Peanuts, which I know can be a sign of a defect, either in the bean or the roast, but it works here. It tastes intentional here.
As for brewing - drip and French Press are really nice. Definitely a coffee you want to bury your face in as a pour-over. Smells so, so good. I've struggled to pull a good espresso shot (thin, mainly), but I think the flavors can really work if you're more comfortable working with light roast espressos. The biggest surprise was how much I enjoyed it as a cold brew!
