"Nguvu" means "Strength," "Power," or "Energy." It would be reasonable to assume that the name was a reference to the incredible coffees this coop produces. But you'd be wrong. It's actually in reference to the widow co-op owner, who is, by all accounts, a force of nature unto herself. 

We kept the roast light for this coffee to accentuate its sweet, exotic fruit, and floral notes. We picked up notes of Orange Blossom Honey, like we get from Max, our honey guy at the Mission Valley and La Jolla Farmers markets. There was an exotic/tropical fruit element. Something in the lychee/rambutan/mangosteen family. 

There were only 4 bags available of this particular lot. I bought 2 of them. Enjoy this rare microlot while you can. I will.
