When I started offering this coffee, my coffee industry friends were all excited to share stories about the producer, Victor Calderon. "Let me tell you about Victor!"   What I gathered about him:

    1. If he were a wealthy American, we'd call him an eccentric. Because he grows coffee in Guatemala, he "a character" or a "really interesting guy".  His farm trucks are armor plated, able to withstand small artillery.
    2. He likes to tinker & experiment. He developed a leaf rust preventative using the calcium in his farm's soil.
    3.  He consistently grows some of the best coffees Guatemala has to offer. He's had several coffees over the years reach the auction stage of the Cup of Excellence competition. This isn't one of those coffees, but it's still damn good!

Bright, lively, juicy coffee. Hibiscus flowers and cherries (the tarter crimson ones, not the maroonish-purple sweet ones).  Perfect pour-over. Playful cold brew.
